Cookie pop-ups often employ tactics that can be perceived as misleading, prompting users to inadvertently consent to being tracked. In response to this, an innovative add-on has been developed to automatically handle consent pop-ups, empowering users to avoid manipulative practices. By setting your preferences once, you can entrust the technology to manage the rest reliably.

This pioneering add-on is proudly created and maintained by a team from Aarhus University in Denmark. Comprising privacy researchers who have grown increasingly concerned with the frequent violations of the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), this initiative was born out of a deep-rooted need to address these challenges. Recognizing the limitations in resources faced by regulatory bodies overseeing GDPR compliance, the add-on was crafted with the aim of bolstering their efforts.

An extensive analysis involving 680 pop-ups was conducted, leading to the classification of data processing purposes into 5 distinct categories that users can customize based on their preferences. Amidst the complexities of these online frameworks, if discrepancies arise between our categories and those provided on websites, we proactively opt for options geared towards preserving user privacy.
